In 1980, Shirley Yaeger started Personnel World with one major goal for her fledgling Lansing-based company: to be the best!  Today—with over 1,000 placements every year in the mid-Michigan area—the clients of Personnel World agree it is! Shirley's extensive background in personnel work and business management gives her an exclusive insight into employers' needs, as well as an understanding of what it takes to make a good candidate for placement.

In 1995, Kent Housler joined the Personnel World team.  In 2005 he became the Vice President.  A Western Michigan University graduate and life long Michigan resident, Kent brings over 15 years of staffing, recruiting, and management experience. Networking with local businesses, community leaders, and organizations allows Kent to keep his hands on the pulse of Michigan's staffing needs.

Beginning as a permanent placement agency, Personnel World entered the market with the goal of providing high quality placement at a fair cost. At first, the company focused on serving the engineering, data processing, accounting, administrative and clerical needs of the Lansing and Michigan business communities.  Within two years, Personnel World expanded into the area of temporary placement and today successfully serves both markets. Today, Personnel World has a national reach with the ability to find and place staff all over the country.
